The annual duck race took place in Abbey Fields on Boxing Day and was yet again tremendously supported by the people of Kenilworth and the surrounding area.
The weather was kind to us yet again on the day and although misty conditions applied the water levels were probably perfect for the event.

Warwick District Council provided stewards on the day and had cleared a significant area on brambles etc on both sides of the brook which created a much larger viewing area for the large number of spectators who attended.
Radio Abbey broadcast the event live and were updated with the progress of the ducks once in the water.28 corporate ducks entered the water before the event sponsored by local businesses:

Virgin and Castle, Minuteman Press, Kenilworth Footcare, Gentry Hair Studio, Thomas Hearn Furniture , Charles Peters Recruitment, Coleshill Mortgages, The Cycle Recycler ( 2 entries), Boothroyd Estate Agents, My Extra Colleague, Sentinal Sustainability, Swim a Sue, Julie Philpot Residential, Rachel Reid Interiors, The Reinge Clinic, House of Beauty, Kindred CSR, Kenilworth Chiropractic, Speech Therapy Warwickshire, Time for Tea cafe, James Moore Jewellers, First Class
Watches, Allworks, Edmonds Jewellers , Fitness Worx, C4FF, Sagars.
On the day the winner of the corporate race was Speech therapy Warwickshire, 2nd Boothroyd Estate agents. The winner of the best dressed duck judged by the Town Mayor was Edmonds Jewellers.

Thank you to all the Lions, Volunteers, Corporate entries and the people of Kenilworth who supported this event once more and raised significant funds for a worthy local cause.

Over 10,000 tickets were sold for the yellow duck race and the whole event including the corporate entries raised £8,145 which will be donated to Special Care Baby Unit at Warwick Hospital for equipment purchases.
