The following donations were recommended by Kenilworth Lions’ Community Service Committee and agreed unanimously by Club members at the June club meeting:
- A grant of £500 has been awarded to the Soroptimists. They are taking over the extremely popular Advent Calendar campaign from the Rotary Club. The grant will pay for one-off start up costs.
- A grant of £500 has been awarded to Warwickshire Vision Support. This will pay for running costs associated with the monthly vision support sessions that they provide at Kenilworth Methodist Church
- A sum of £1000 has been pledged to support a Lions Club International Fund appeal for Venezuela earthquake disaster relief support
- Two £250 memorial donations have been made. One to Myton Hospice, and the second to the Dogs for Good charity
- A grant of £300 has been approved to purchase a cooker for a Kenilworth single mother living in difficult circumstances
A total of £2,800 has been donated in direct grants this month
In addition, Furniture Store vouchers to the value of £200 were issued to an applicant sponsored by the Brunswick Hub.
