Lions and Soroptimists – now that’s team work!

John Whitehouse Uncategorized

Kenilworth Lions and Soroptimists have recently been working together to build and restock a raised bed planter in the garden of a resident living in local sheltered accommodation, to replace her old one which was falling apart.

The Soroptimists have supported this lady in many ways over recent years. When the call came to Kenilworth Lions to help out, we were delighted to do so, by means of a cash grant and the voluntary effort of two of our members to build the new heavy-duty planter, which should last for years to come.

Town mayor Richard Dickson was on hand to see the finished results of this team work between two of Kenilworth’s leading voluntary organisations.

The full story of the project is set out on the Kenilworth Soroptimists web site at https://sigbi.org/kenilworth-and-district/2020/07/10/what-do-you-do-when-your-wooden-planter-decides-to-play-jenga/
